LOS ANGELES, April 16 (UPI) --
Pop star Selena Gomez
wore a bindi on her forehead on "Dancing with the Stars" in Los Angeles amid criticism she was misusing the Hindu symbol.
Officials at the Universal Society of Hinduism demanded an apology from the 20-year-old recording artist after she wore a bindi while performing her Bollywood-style song "Come & Get It" on Sunday's MTV Movie Awards.
Gomez has not publicly commented on the controversy and wore the object again when she sang the song on Tuesday's edition of "Dancing with the Stars."
