LOS ANGELES, April 16 (UPI) -- NBC replaced Monday night's episode of its drama series "Revolution" with additional news coverage of the Boston Marathon explosions.

Starring Billy Burke and Elizabeth Mitchell, the show was set to air at 10 p.m. after the latest edition of "The Voice."

Instead, NBC News broadcast an hour-long prime-time special anchored by Brian Williams and featuring reports from Matt Lauer, Lester Holt, Ron Allen, Pete Williams and Katy Tur.

"The Voice" aired as scheduled.

Three people, including an 8-year-old boy, were killed and more than 100 injured in Monday's blasts near the finish line of the 26.2 mile race.

As of Tuesday morning, no one had claimed responsibility for the attacks.
