LOS ANGELES, April 14 (UPI) -- The U.S. TV show "Glee" is adding a lesbian couple played by Patty Duke and Meredith Baxter to its repertory cast, E! Online reports.

Citing sources it did not name, the entertainment news website reported Thursday Duke, an Oscar-winning actress, and Baxter, a daytime Emmy winner who recently came out as a lesbian, will appear in "Glee's" upcoming Season 4 finale and will return as recurring characters in Season 5 of the Fox network musical show.

Duke and Baxter will play a longtime lesbian couple who offer to mentor a young gay man, Blane (Darren Criss), who intends to propose to his boyfriend, Kurt (Chris Colfer), The Hollywood Reporter said.
