TV's Nate Berkus and beau Jeremiah Brant get engaged

CHICAGO, April 10 (UPI) -- Nate Berkus' publicist says the Chicago interior designer, author and TV personality is engaged to Jeremiah Brent, his boyfriend of about a year.

Berkus proposed to Brant Monday and the couple celebrated with friends at the ancient Incan historic site of Machu Picchu in Peru, People.com reported Wednesday.

There was no word on where or when the couple with tie the knot.

The engagement is happy news for Berkus, whose longtime partner Fernando Bengoechea, was killed during the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami while they were on vacation.
