NEW YORK, March 23 (UPI) -- "Saturday Night Live" star Seth Meyers is to take over "Late Night" after Jimmy Fallon replaces Jay Leno on "The Tonight Show," the New York Post reported.

Rumors regarding Leno's as-yet-unannounced 2014 departure and eventual replacement have been swirling for weeks, however, NBC has not publicly commented on the future of its late-night programming slate.

"[Producer] Lorne Michaels wants Seth to take over from Fallon. It would be perfect for him. Tina Fey's name had also come up, but she has said she was too busy to do it," a source told the Post.
