NEW YORK, March 21 (UPI) -- Tony Geary, Genie Francis, Jack Wagner and Rick Springfield are to appear on the U.S. television special, "General Hospital -- The Real Soap Dish," ABC said.

Katie Couric is to serve as host of the "20/20" program, scheduled to air April 6.

"For 50 years, 'General Hospital' has entertained and amazed its viewers with unforgettable romance, action and cutting-edge story lines," ABC said in a news release Thursday. "To celebrate the pop icon's golden anniversary, Katie Couric and '20/20' travel to the fictional town of Port Charles [New York] to experience first-hand the passion, intrigue and adventure that has made the daytime soap the longest running scripted drama currently on television."
