NEW YORK, March 8 (UPI) -- Lisa Ling's publicist says the broadcast journalist gave birth to a daughter named Jett Ling Song Friday in Santa Monica, Calif.

The baby is the first for the "Our America" host and former "The View" panelist and her oncologist husband, Dr. Paul Song. The couple married in 2007.

"Lisa and Jett are resting comfortably. The proud parents are enjoying the first day of parenthood and are looking forward to bringing their daughter home," Ling's representative said in a statement to People.com.
