LOS ANGELES, March 5 (UPI) -- The upcoming eighth season of the serial killer drama "Dexter" will be its last, CBS Corp. Chief Executive Officer Les Moonves told investors.

The series, starring Michael C. Hall, airs on Showtime. Its final season is to premiere June 30.

E! quoted Moonves as saying the producers and writers of "Dexter" have a "clear endgame in place; I just can't talk about it just yet. The decision of when to end 'Dexter' is ultimately a creative decision and will be made on creative reasons."
