LOS ANGELES, Feb. 15 (UPI) -- U.S. actor and musician John Stamos says he would consider returning to "General Hospital" but only if his character had something interesting to do.

Numerous former "GH" cast members have been guest-starring on the soap opera in recent weeks in honor of its 50th anniversary.

In an interview to air Monday on "The Jeff Probst Show," Stamos said he was approached about reprising his role of Blackie Parrish and playing the drums at the upcoming Nurse's Ball while fellow 1980s cast member Rick Springfield sings "Jessie's Girl," TVGuide.com reported.

"That's not gonna happen," Stamos said.

"That's what I passed on," he said, adding he remains "indebted" to the daytime drama for giving him his big break decades ago.

"Why don't we pull Blackie out of jail [where he's been for 30 years] and he has to reacclimate to life?" Stamos said. "He's never been with a girl! I would like to go on ['GH'] and do some acting."
