LOS ANGELES, Jan. 14 (UPI) -- HBO's "Girls" was named Best Comedy Series and its star-producer Lena Dunham Best Actress in a Comedy at the Golden Globe Awards in Los Angeles Sunday night.

"Making this show and the response to it has been the most validating thing that I have ever felt. It makes me feel so much less alone in this world," Dunham said. "I can't define it. Thank you."
