'Hunger Games,' Katy Perry win big at People's Choice Awards

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 10 (UPI) -- "The Hunger Games" won five People's Choice Awards, while pop star Katy Perry scooped up three prizes in Los Angeles.

Fans voted "The Hunger Games" Favorite Movie, Action Movie and Favorite Movie Franchise.

The film's stars -- Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth -- also scored the trophy for Best On-screen Chemistry, while Lawrence took home the statuette for Favorite Face of Heroism for her role in the film. Lawrence picked up the award for Favorite Movie Actress, as well, Wednesday night.

Katy Perry was honored with the title of Favorite Female Artist, Pop Artist and Music Video for "Part of Me." One Direction won for Favorite Song for "What Makes You Beautiful" and Favorite Album for "Up All Night."

Robert Downey Jr. was declared Favorite Movie Actor and Favorite Movie Superhero for his portrayal of Iron Man in the blockbuster "The Avengers."

"The Perks of Being a Wallflower" was declared Favorite Drama Movie and "Ted" Favorite Comedy Movie.

Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston won matching Favorite Comedy Movie Actor and Actress trophies, and Zac Efron and Emma Watson earned the honors for Favorite Drama Actor and Actress.

"Glee" co-stars Chris Colfer and Lea Michele won the prizes for Favorite Comedy TV Actor and Actress, while "Castle" leading man Nathan Fillion and "Grey's Anatomy" actress Ellen Pompeo won for Favorite Drama TV Actor and Actress.

"The Big Bang Theory" earned the distinction of Favorite Network TV Comedy and "Grey's Anatomy" the title of Favorite Network Drama.

"Awkward" was declared Favorite Cable TV Comedy, "Leverage" Favorite Cable TV Drama and "True Blood" Favorite Premium Cable TV Show.

"The Big Bang Theory" star Kaley Cuoco served as host of the People's Choice Awards for the second consecutive year.
