Alex Guarnaschelli wins 'Next Iron Chef'

NEW YORK, Dec. 25 (UPI) -- U.S. chef and TV personality Alex Guarnaschelli has been declared the winner of the Food Network's "The Next Iron Chef: Redemption."

Guarnaschelli, who cooks at the Butter and The Darby eateries in New York, beat out fellow finalists Amanda Freitag and Nate Appleman to win the competition series.

She is only the second woman to be declared an American Iron Chef after Cat Cora.
