LOS ANGELES, Dec. 7 (UPI) -- Brooke Mueller, the ex-wife of actor Charlie Sheen, was hospitalized for exhaustion and dehydration in Los Angeles, her publicist said Friday.

"An assistant thought Brooke was non-responsive while she was napping and hastily called an ambulance," Mueller's representative, Steve Honig, told TMZ. "As a precaution, Brooke was brought to a local hospital and discharged after an hour. She was diagnosed with exhaustion and dehydration and is now fine and resting at home. That's it."

TMZ cited multiple unnamed sources as saying Mueller has been abusing drugs for several weeks and those close to her are "deeply concerned."

Mueller has been to rehab more than 15 times to undergo treatment for drug and alcohol abuse, TMZ said.

She and Sheen are the parents of twin 3-year-old sons. The couple married in 2008, separated in 2009 and were officially divorced last year.
