NEW YORK, Nov. 28 (UPI) -- Comedian and actor Kevin Hart is to star in the semi-scripted, faux reality show "Real Husbands of Hollywood," BET Networks said Wednesday.

Co-starring Nick Cannon, Boris Kodjoe, Duane Martin, J.B. Smoove and Robin Thicke, the show is to debut Jan. 15.

"I haven't been this excited about a project of mine in a while, there is nothing like this on television ... the levels of funny that will be reached on this show are endless," Hart said in a statement.

The show will also feature guest appearances by television, film, music and sports stars such as Jay Leno, Ed O'Neill, Shaquille O'Neal, Nelly, Faizon Love, Common, Trey Songz and Cedric the Entertainer.

"We knew after the response to the 'Real Husbands' sketches on the BET Awards that we had something special. Look in the dictionary under the word 'obvious' and you see a picture of us deciding to turn the sketches into a series," said Stephen Hill, BET's president of music programming and specials. "Kevin Hart leads an incredible cast in this show that turns all of the conventions you hate to love in those wives shows on their collective ear. We are so proud to be working with this all-star production team. This is the best funny you'll see on TV this year."
