NEW YORK, Nov. 16 (UPI) -- Oscar-winning actress Whoopi Goldberg will be a guest star on the New York-set supernatural series "666 Park Avenue," ABC announced.

Goldberg, star of the films "Ghost" and "The Color Purple" and co-host of TV's "The View," will appear on the Dec. 2 episode of the show, which follows the strange goings-on in a luxurious Manhattan apartment building.

"Jane is hurled back in time to October 1927 by the mysterious Maris Elder, who hypnotizes her in an effort to find out where she disappeared down the spiral staircase," a synopsis of the episode said.

"Her time-travel adventures unlock secrets long hidden in Peter Kramer's apartment, where his wife was murdered, and shows Jane that her family has a dark legacy ... ."

Rachael Taylor plays Jane and Jim True-Frost plays Peter. Goldberg will be Maris.
