NEW YORK, Nov. 9 (UPI) -- Next month's Divas Dance Party will feature performances by Ciara, Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, Kelly Rowland and Jordin Sparks, America's VH1 network announced.

The concert, which will include tributes to late pop stars Whitney Houston and Donna Summer, is to air live Dec. 16. "American Idol" alum Adam Lambert will serve as host of the event.

The location of the concert has not been announced.

"This is going to be one hell of a party! We are extremely thrilled to have the extraordinarily talented Adam Lambert as our 2012 VH1 Divas host," Lee Rolontz, executive vice president of original music production and development for VH1 and VH1 Classic, said in a statement Thursday. "The world has truly been inspired by dance music and what better way for VH1 to pay tribute than by honoring legends Whitney Houston and Donna Summer through song and dance."

"I'm so thrilled to be hosting VH1 Divas this year," Lambert said. "I have a feeling it's going to be the most fabulous concert of the year! And live! Get ready for some amazing performances, killer fashion and fierce divas!"

The show will benefit the VH1 Save the Music Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to keeping music education alive in American public schools.

Additional performers, presenters, special guests and sponsors will be announced as they are confirmed, VH1 said.
