BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., Nov. 7 (UPI) -- U.S. cable network Starz says it has set a January premiere date for the final installment in its Spartacus franchise.

"Spartacus: War of the Damned" is to debut Jan. 25. It follows two seasons of the show and a miniseries.

The drama takes place following the defeat of Roman commander Gaius Claudius Glaber, portrayed by Craig Parker.

Liam McIntyre plays the series' title character.

"Spartacus and his men have amassed major victories against the Romans after the Battle of Vesuvius," a synopsis said. "These victories have not only forged the legend of Spartacus, but have greatly increased the ranks of the rebellion slaves to more than 30,000. Rome is indeed beginning to tremble at the threat Spartacus now represents."
