LOS ANGELES, Oct. 31 (UPI) -- Actor Rainn Wilson says he won't be starring in an "Office" spinoff set on a Pennsylvania beet farm after all.

NBC had explored the possibility of giving Dwight Schrute, Wilson's character on "The Office," his own show after the workplace comedy wraps its ninth season this spring.

But Wilson announced Tuesday the network decided against the new series.

"NBC has passed on moving forward with 'The Farm' TV show. Had a blast making the pilot -- onwards & upwards!" Wilson said via Twitter.
