NEW YORK, Oct. 31 (UPI) -- Former U.S. Vice President Al Gore is to lead Current TV's election night coverage, the cable network announced Wednesday.

The Current TV co-founder will begin his coverage of the presidential election Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET.

"As he did for the first and third presidential debates earlier this month, Gore will lead a roundtable and will be joined by other Current anchors including former Michigan governor and host of 'The War Room' Jennifer Granholm, former New York governor and host of 'Viewpoint' Eliot Spitzer, new media expert and host of 'The Young Turks' Cenk Uygur and comedian, commentator and host of 'So That Happened' John Fugelsang," the network said in a news release.

"Current's election night coverage will originate from Current's studio in San Francisco, home to 'The War Room with Jennifer Granholm' and 'The Gavin Newsom Show.' Current's coverage will feature live analysis, instant alerts regarding campaign spin and fact checking through the same innovative use of social media that the network unveiled during its convention coverage earlier this election season."
