WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif., Oct. 22 (UPI) -- Clint Eastwood's daughter says she won't vote for Mitt Romney, despite her actor father's empty-chair speech backing the U.S. Republican presidential nominee.

"I happen to not be voting for the same man," Francesca Eastwood told the TMZ celebrity and entertainment news website as she got into a car after leaving the Chateau Marmont hotel in West Hollywood, Calif.

"But I love that he stands up for what he believes in," the actress, model and TV personality said of her father, whose Republican National Convention speech Aug. 30 was a largely improvised routine addressing an empty chair representing President Barack Obama.

The prime-time broadcast speech, viewed live by about 30 million Americans, was widely derided -- although after Obama's poor performance in the first presidential debate Nov. 3, The New Yorker magazine featured a cartoon of Romney debating an empty chair.

Obama jokingly referred to the 82-year-old actor's convention speech Thursday night, telling guests at the Alfred E. Smith Memorial Foundation Dinner in New York to "please take your seats -- otherwise Clint Eastwood will yell at them."

He also said he imagined some people at the dinner noticed he "had a lot more energy" in the second debate. That's because "I felt really well rested after the nice long nap I had in the first debate," he said.
