AMC and Dish settle dispute

BETHPAGE, N.Y., Oct. 22 (UPI) -- Cablevision and AMC Networks announced they have settled their litigation with Dish Network in time for fans to see the U.S. zombie drama "The Walking Dead."

The second episode of the show's third season aired Sunday night. Dish customers missed the season premiere the previous week because the satellite company pulled AMC Networks programming, including shows airing on AMC, IFC, Sundance Channel and WE tv, during the summer due to a dispute over transmission fees.

Cablevision and AMC Networks subsequently filed a breach of contract lawsuit in a New York court.

The parties involved announced a settlement Saturday.

"We are glad to partner again with Dish Network and are delighted to bring back our popular channels and programming to their customers," Josh Sapan, president and chief executive officer of AMC Networks, said in a statement.
