The aspiring fashion designer beat out fellow finalists Fabio Costa, Melissa Fleis and Christopher Palu to be crowned the winner on Thursday's finale, which aired on Lifetime.
The Hollywood Reporter quoted Nina Garcia as saying she and the other judges -- Heidi Klum, Michael Kors and guest Jennifer Hudson -- agreed on the winner after the four finalists presented their collections at New York Fashion Week.
"There was a clear and definite winner," Garcia said. "It was very unanimous, to be honest with you. ... There wasn't so much as a disagreement, or at least I didn't think so."
Sholokhov was given $100,000 from L'Oreal Paris to start his own line, as well as a fashion spread in Marie Claire magazine, a 2013 Lexus GS 350 and a $50,000 technology suite by HP and Intel, the entertainment industry trade newspaper said.
