NEW YORK, Oct. 12 (UPI) -- U.S. President Barack Obama is to appear as a guest on "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" next week, Comedy Central announced Friday.

Obama, who is seeking re-election in November, will appear on Thursday's edition of the late-night comedy show.

It will be his sixth appearance as a guest on "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" and his second since taking office as president of the United States of America. His last appearance was Oct. 27, 2010.
