Kanye West wins big at BET Awards

NEW YORK, Oct. 10 (UPI) -- Kanye West picked up seven BET Hip Hop Awards, including Producer of the Year, at a ceremony in Atlanta, which aired on the cable network Tuesday night.

West also went home with the Best Hip Hop Style accolade. He and Jay-Z were named Best Live Performer, while their song "Ni**as in Paris" won in the Track of the Year and Best Club Banger categories and their album "Watch the Throne" earned the CD of the Year title.

"HYFR" by Drake and Lil Wayne was named Best Video, while "Mercy" by West featuring Big Sean, Pusha T and 2 Chainz was declared Best Collaboration.

Kendrick Lamar was declared Lyricist of the Year,

Hype Williams was named Hip Hop Video Director of the Year and DJ Khaled honored as Disc Jockey of the Year.

Rick Ross was presented with the MVP of the Year award, 2 Chainz was called Rookie of the Year and Jay-Z was declared Hustler of the Year.

Comedian Mike Epps served as host of the event where Rakim was presented with this year's I Am Hip Hop Icon Award.
