NatGeo to air bin Laden film Nov. 4

WASHINGTON, Oct. 5 (UPI) -- National Geographic Channel says it will air U.S. producer Harvey Weinstein's film "Seal Team Six: The Raid on Osama bin Laden" just before Election Day.

The Nov. 4 premiere, which marks NGC's first original broadcast of a feature film inspired by real events, will take place two days before the 2012 presidential election in which incumbent Barack Obama will go head to head with Republican challenger Mitt Romney.

Starring Cam Gigandet, Anson Mount, Freddy Rodriquez, Xzibit, Kathleen Robertson, Eddie Kay Thomas, Kenneth Miller, Robert Knepper and William Fichtner, the movie is about how the CIA readied a team of seasoned U.S. Navy SEALs to attack Osama bin Laden's compound in Pakistan in 2011, ultimately killing the terrorist leader, after Obama green-lit the mission.

The movie will be available Nov. 5 on Netflix.

"But what was fascinating to me were all the potentially disastrous outcomes of the decision to give the go-ahead to the raid that the movie highlights. It hopefully gets inside the challenges of making a decision that could have derailed a presidency."

"This portrayal of the events that took place that night is moving to say the very least.
