NEW YORK, Sept. 29 (UPI) -- Maria Shriver's friends say she is angry "60 Minutes" did not get her point of view for a story on her ex-husband, former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger.

They say she heard from the CBS news magazine show only after an interview with Schwarzenegger had been taped, TMZ reports. She would have been able to make only a general comment about his upcoming book, since she did not know what he had written, or what he said to CBS's Leslie Stahl.

Schwarzenegger and Shriver separated last year amid revelations he had fathered a child with their housekeeper. His book, "Total Recall: My Unbelievably True Life Story," is scheduled to hit bookstores Tuesday.

A source described the "60 Minutes" segment as pro-Schwarzenegger, using an obscenity.

"Leslie Stahl just fawned over him," the source told TMZ.

Shriver, a niece of President John F. Kennedy and senators Robert and Ted Kennedy, was a successful television journalist when she married Schwarzenegger in 1976. She resigned from NBC in 2004 after her husband became governor of California, although she took a leave of absence during the campaign.

Schwarzenegger did not give his ex-wife a chance to read the book before publication, the report said.

"She knows the book is a big PR stunt to get back in the public's good graces," a friend told TMZ.
