LOS ANGELES, Sept. 29 (UPI) -- U.S. singer and actress Miley Cyrus is negotiating a role as Bonnie Parker in a Lifetime and History miniseries, "Bonnie & Clyde," CNN reported.

Tapping Cyrus for the female lead in the series would be part of a growing push to include big names in scripted series on A&E Networks, CNN reported Friday.

Kevin Costner won an Emmy last week for his role in the History miniseries "Hatfield & McCoys," while Lifetime is scheduled to premiere its Elizabeth Taylor biopic "Liz & Dick" starring Lindsay Lohan this fall.

The "Bonnie & Clyde" project is being produced by Neil Meron and Craig Zadan, CNN said.
