LOS ANGELES, Sept. 27 (UPI) -- "Sons of Anarchy" and "The O.C." actor Johnny Lewis has been found dead in Los Angeles, after allegedly killing his 81-year-old landlady, TMZ reported.

Police sources told the celebrity news website they believe the ex-boyfriend of pop star Katy Perry was high on either PCP or meth when he killed the woman, fought two men near the scene, then fell or jumped to his death Wednesday.

The cause of the woman's death wasn't reported.

TMZ said Lewis, 28, was released from Los Angeles County Jail Sept. 21 and had also recently spent a stint in rehab.

Several criminal cases had been filed against him at the time of his death, the website said, noting the nature of the offenses hasn't been disclosed.

His films included "Raise Your Voice," "Pretty Persuasion," "Alien vs. Predator: Requiem," "Palo Alto," "One Missed Call," "The Runaways," "Magic Valley," "Lovely Molly" and "186 Dollars to Get Out."

He also appeared on TV shows "7th Heaven," "Malcolm in the Middle," "Judging Amy," "Drake & Josh," "Smallville" and "Criminal Minds."
