NEW YORK, Sept. 20 (UPI) -- U.S. President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama are to make their first joint appearance on "The View" next week, ABC said.
Barbara Walters and Bill Geddie, the daytime chat show's executive producers, announced Thursday the first couple will be the guests on the show scheduled to air Tuesday.
The president and first lady will sit down with "The View" hosts Barbara Walters, Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Sherri Shepherd as part of the show's "Red, White & View" campaign, which features political guests and discussions, ABC said.
"We are honored to host President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama on 'The View,'" Walters said in a statement. "Although each of them has appeared several times on the program, this first joint appearance marks a significant milestone."
