LOS ANGELES, Sept. 16 (UPI) -- HBO's "Game of Thrones" took home the most awards at this year's Creative Arts Emmys in Los Angeles with six wins, for a total of 17 trophies for the network.

The fantasy drama's awards included art direction, costumes, sound editing, sound mixing, special visual effects and single camera, non-prosthetic makeup at the Saturday ceremony held at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles, the Emmys said in a release.

HBO received the most trophies of all networks at the Creative Arts Emmys, including three from "Boardwalk Empire," two each from "Hemingway & Gellhorn" and "George Harrison: Living in the Material World. The network got single wins from "Curb Your Enthusiasm," "Game Change" and "Girls."

CBS took home the second-most awards with 13 Emmys, and PBS was third with 11 Emmys for "Great Expectations" and "Downton Abbey."

Discovery Channel's "Frozen Planet" received the second-highest number of awards for an individual series, with four wins for top nonfiction series, sound editing, cinematography and picture editing. Discovery earned six awards total.

The Primetime Emmys is set to air Sept. 23 on ABC, the release said.
