LOS ANGELES, Sept. 5 (UPI) -- Amanda Bynes has been charged with two counts of hit-and-run related to separate collisions in April and August, Los Angeles prosecutors say.

The 26-year-old actress faces up to a year in jail if convicted on both misdemeanor counts, People.com reported Wednesday.

Her arraignment is scheduled for Sept. 27 at a Van Nuys, Calif., courthouse, the celebrity news Web site said.

Bynes is best known for her work in the films "Hairspray" and "What a Girl Wants," as well as TV's "The Amanda Show" and "What I Like About You."
