WASHINGTON, July 2 (UPI) -- "Dancing with the Stars" host Tom Bergeron is to emcee "A Capitol Fourth," a holiday music program in Washington, PBS announced.

The July 4 special is to include performances by Phillip Phillips, Matthew Broderick, Megan Hilty, Javier Colon, Josh Turner, Kool & The Gang, Kelli O'Hara, Russell Watson, Amber Riley and the National Symphony Orchestra.

The acts will be followed by a spectacular fireworks display. The program will air live in HD on PBS Wednesday.

"What an honor to be in the nation's capital for America's biggest birthday party," Bergeron said in a statement Monday. "Hosting 'A Capitol Fourth' enables me to celebrate two things I'm a big fan of -- America and PBS."

"We are thrilled that Tom Bergeron will lead our nation in this star-spangled celebration," said executive producer Jerry Colbert. "We are also humbled that the viewers have chosen this unique live television event as their favorite. With the eyes of America upon us, we join as one family to celebrate our freedoms, using the magical medium of television."
