PALM SPRINGS, Calif., June 21 (UPI) -- Science-fiction and horror film actor Richard Lynch has died at his home in Palm Springs, Calif., his publicist said. He was 76.

His credits include the films "Deathsport," "Scarecrow," "The Sword and the Sorcerer," "Star Trek: The Next Generation," "Puppet Master III: Toulon's Revenge," "Cyborg 3: The Recycler," "Final Combat," "Wedding Slashers," "Halloween 2007" and "The Lords of Salem," as well as the TV shows "Charlie's Angels," "Battlestar Galactica," "Blue Thunder," "Airwolf," "Hunter," "Highlander" and "The A-Team."

Lynch's representative, Mike Baronas, told Fox411 actress Carol Vogel discovered the actor's body Tuesday after she stopped by his home, worried because she hadn't heard from him in several days.

"When she entered, she discovered him lying on the kitchen floor. She proceeded to call 911 although his body was cold and lifeless," Baronas said Wednesday. "From what I currently understand, no investigation into the cause of his death will be made as his body was sent directly to a funeral home."

Lynch reportedly suffered scarring in 1967 after he accidentally set himself on fire while under the influence of LSD, Fox411 said. His distinctive appearance led to dozens of acting roles, mainly as villains.
