Complaint filed in 'Jersey Shore' fracas

SEASIDE HEIGHTS, N.J., June 16 (UPI) -- Police in New Jersey said they were investigating a bar patron's allegation he was punched out by "Jersey Shore" cast member Ronald "Ronnie" Ortiz-Magro Jr.

TMZ.com reported Justin Vigerito told Seaside Heights police he was hit in the face by Ortiz-Magro, 26, when a brawl broke out during filming of the reality television series last week at the city's Bamboo Bar.

Vigerito said in his complaint the trouble started when one of his buddies tried to join the party while he and Ortiz-Magro were having a few belts. A "Jersey Shore" crew member allegedly pushed the other guy, sparking a melee in which Ortiz-Magro allegedly hit Vigerito several times.

TMZ said Ortiz-Magro, who has claimed self-defense, was accused in a similar dust-up in 2009. He avoided assault charges by enrolling in a pretrial intervention program. The intervention agreement required Ortiz-Magro to stay out of trouble.
