Jason Gedrick joins 'Dexter' cast

LOS ANGELES, May 23 (UPI) -- Actor Jason Gedrick has joined the Season 7 cast of the U.S. crime drama "Dexter," Showtime announced.

Gedrick will play the manager of a Miami-area gentlemen's club linked to a high-profile murder case.

Production on the show begins this month in Los Angeles, the cable network said Tuesday. The new season is to premiere Sept. 30.

Best known for his roles in the films "Backdraft," "Iron Eagle," "Stacking" and "Heavenly Kid," Gedrick's small-screen credits include "Luck," "Murder One," "EZ Streets," "Falcone," "Boomtown," "Ally McBeal" and "Desperate Housewives."

"Dexter" stars Michael C. Hall as a blood-spatter expert for the Miami police department who moonlights as a serial killer. The series co-stars Jennifer Carpenter, Desmond Harrington, C.S. Lee, Lauren Velez, David Zayas and James Remar.
