LOS ANGELES, May 22 (UPI) -- U.S. cable network A&E has canceled the family-themed fugitive recovery show "Dog the Bounty Hunter" after eight seasons, TMZ reported.

The decision was made to scrap the reality series after the network and star Duane "Dog" Chapman failed to hammer out a new contract for Season 9, the celebrity news Web site said.
