NEW YORK, May 8 (UPI) -- A week of episodes of "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" will be taped at the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Fla., Comedy Central said Tuesday.

The segments of the satirical news program will be recorded at the David A. Straz, Jr. Center for the Performing Arts in Ferguson Hall, and will air nightly from Aug. 28-31.

The show previously announced its coverage of the 2012 DNC, which will be taped at ImaginOn: The Joe & Joan Martin Center in Charlotte, S.C., and will air nightly from Sept. 4-7.

"We are incredibly excited to spend a week in the beautiful city of Tampa," Rory Albanese, the show's executive producer, said in a statement Tuesday. "We look forward to enjoying the beaches and the exciting nightlife, plus we assume this counts as a visit to our grandparents."

"The Daily Show" premiered on the cable network in 1996.
