LOS ANGELES, April 24 (UPI) -- Martin Lawrence's publicist confirmed Tuesday the Hollywood actor and his wife, Shamicka, are divorcing after two years of marriage.

"Martin and Shamicka Lawrence have decided to divorce," the actor's representative told People.com. "The couple has made the joint decision to part ways."

The Lawrences dated for 15 years before tying the knot in 2010. They have two children.

"Out of love and respect for one another we will continue to remain friends and raise our two beautiful daughters together," the couple said in a joint statement issued to People.com.
