LOS ANGELES, April 7 (UPI) -- American singer Jennifer Lopez wore a $2.1 million yellow diamond ring on an episode of "American Idol," the ring's creator told People magazine.
Lopez wore the 50.40-carat ring designed by Cora jewelers on Wednesday's episode of the reality singing show, the magazine reported Sunday.
"Having someone like Jennifer Lopez wear our ring, for me, is the ultimate. She represents a strong woman with a great sense of work ethic and intelligence," Cora Chief Executive Officer Suzette Gomes told People. "She is the American dream."
The rare yellow diamond found in Africa is set in 18-karat gold and ebony wood. The designers chose to mount the gem in wood because it's something that was "also from nature," People reported.
The ring will soon be available for purchase on Cora's Web site.
