LOS ANGELES, March 23 (UPI) -- Former "Prime Suspect" star Maria Bello has signed on for a role in the new U.S. drama series "Touch," Deadline.com reported.

The actress is to appear in a multi-episode arc in the current first season with an option to become a series regular if the drama is renewed for a second season as expected, the entertainment news Web site said.

The show stars Kiefer Sutherland as widower Martin and David Mazouz as Jake, who can predict events by reading numbers in a special way. Bello will play a woman whose daughter shared a similar gift, Deadline.com said.
