Carolla, Andretti booted from 'Apprentice'

NEW YORK, March 12 (UPI) -- Comedian Adam Carolla and race-car driver Michael Andretti were booted from "The Celebrity Apprentice" competition series in New York.

Project manager Carolla was fired in Sunday's episode after his team lost the week's challenge involving a presentation for Buick.

Host and producer Donald Trump announced he would fire a second person after Carolla declined to nominate two team members for elimination and headed into the boardroom alone.

Andretti was fired because he didn't take a larger role in the challenge, offering his expertise on the automotive industry.
