LOS ANGELES, Feb. 18 (UPI) -- The "Glee" gang will be spending summer vacation at home rather than hitting the road on a live U.S. tour, the show's producers said.

A spokesman for the hit television series told The Hollywood Reporter the producers were considering doing a benefit concert at the Hollywood Bowl this summer, but would otherwise be on hiatus for 2 1/2 months.

"We currently have no plans of touring the cast this summer," the representative said.

The "Glee" cast toured the past two summers. They played 40 sold-out dates in North America and Great Britain last summer, raking in $40 million and placing just behind Justin Bieber on the rankings of summer tour receipts.

The newspaper said the decision to skip touring this summer was based on the cast workload and the fact "Glee" has still not struck a deal on a fourth-season renewal.
