ATLANTA, Feb. 14 (UPI) -- A spokeswoman for Herman Cain says the Republican former U.S. presidential hopeful has turned down an invitation to compete on TV's "Dancing with the Stars."
"He can't dance in an eight-count. He can only dance in a nine-count," Lisa Reichert, Cain's executive assistant, told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution -- referring to Cain's much-talked-about 9-9-9 tax reform proposal.
Previous "DWTS" competitors with links to the GOP include Bristol Palin, daughter of 2008 vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin, and former U.S. House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, R-Texas.
The cast for the next season of "DWTS" is to be announced Feb. 28.
