NEW YORK, Feb. 2 (UPI) -- Kat Graham, a cast member of the U.S. television drama "The Vampire Diaries," has signed a deal with A&M/Octone Records.
The label said it plans to release her first record, "Put Your Graffiti On Me," which was produced by the Australian duo Twice as Nice.
The video for the song is to debut soon and the record will be available on iTunes and other digital retailers in the near future, the label said.
"I wanted to come out swinging," Graham said in a statement about the song. "I wanted my introduction to be strong and in your face. Even though the song is about tagging and art, there's a sexual connotation. By being tagged, you're allowing yourself to be owned in a sensual way. It's a bit tongue-in-cheek, as well. The song basically says, 'If you want it, come and get it.' There's no mistake about the kind of artist I am."
"The first time I heard Kat, I felt something very special," said the label's chief executive officer and president, James Diener. "She's going to blossom into a major star, and it's an honor to be on this road with her. This is going to be an incredible creative partnership."
