CALGARY, Alberta, Jan. 29 (UPI) -- A Canadian woman whose humorous Twitter musings on life gained 300,000 followers says she's not disappointed NBC chose not to turn them into a sitcom.

Kelly Oxford of Calgary said her sitcom proposal, based on her tweets about everything from what her kids say to ramblings about celebrities and American politics, had made a shortlist of submissions being considered for a U.S television pilot, CTVNews.ca reported.

Last week she was told NBC passed on her script.

"NBC did not order my show," Oxford tweeted Tuesday night. "Will be performing it with my children in a Costco parking lot near you, 8 p.m. every Thursday night this Fall."

"I got close guys! I GOT CLOSE," she told her fans on Facebook.

Oxford, a stay-at-home mom, said she took the old writer's advice of "write what you know" by crafting a screenplay based on her family.

Although both NBC and CBS passed on the script, she says she's hooked on the TV screenwriting life.

"It's fun and invigorating. I definitely am that kind of person who likes to get in there and talk. I like to talk," Oxford said.
