WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif., Jan. 14 (UPI) -- Officials in California say actress Heather Locklear went home late Friday after being hospitalized for an unspecified medical emergency.

Locklear, 50, left the Los Robles Hospital in Thousand Oaks with family members about 24 hours after she had been stricken at her home in nearby Westlake Village.

She had been in critical condition Friday but was well enough to be discharged at around 5 p.m. PDT.

Neither the hospital nor the Ventura County Sheriff's Dept. would comment on the nature of the "Melrose Place" star's emergency. KTLA-TV in Los Angeles said there was a report on a celebrity Web site that she had mixed alcohol and prescription drugs; however that was not confirmed.

KTLA said Locklear had been arrested for reckless driving in 2009 while under the influence of medication.
