BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., Jan. 13 (UPI) -- U.S. cable network Encore says it plans to air a four-part miniseries based on Michel Faber's novel "The Crimson Petal and the White."

The first two parts are to premiere March 6, with parts three and four to air March 7.

"The intimate psychological thriller reveals the underbelly of Victorian-era London focusing on the travails of prostitute Sugar played by Romola Garai," a synopsis said.

The cast includes Gillian Anderson, Shirley Henderson and Richard E. Grant.

The BBC miniseries originally aired in the United Kingdom last spring.
