Tracey Gold to star in Syfy flick

NEW YORK, Dec. 27 (UPI) -- Actress Tracey Gold has joined the cast of the TV movie "Arachnoquake," now shooting in Louisiana, Syfy said Tuesday.

Gold is best known for her work on the 1980s sitcom "Growing Pains." She recently participated in the reality series "Celebrity Wife Swap."

Syfy said "Arachnoquake" is scheduled to premiere on the cable network next year.

The cast will also include Bug Hall, Ethan Phillips and Edward Furlong.

"In 'Arachnoquake,' massive earthquakes unleash giant albino spiders," a synopsis said. "Freed from their ancient subterranean prison, the spiders go on a murderous rampage through New Orleans."
