Seinfeld, Lopez to be presenters at 'Heroes' event

NEW YORK, Dec. 9 (UPI) -- Jerry Seinfeld, George Lopez and Sofia Vergara are to be presenters at the "CNN Heroes: An All Star Tribute" show in Los Angeles, the cable network said.

Also slated to hand out honors to real-life do-gooders at Sunday's event are Mary-Louise Parker, Chris Colfer, Ice Cube and Laura Dern.

Anderson Cooper is to serve as host of the ceremony, which is to be broadcast live on CNN from the Shrine Auditorium.

Dr. Sanjay Gupta, CNN's chief medical correspondent, is expected to conduct exclusive backstage interviews streamed live on CNN.com during the show.

Each of the Top 10 CNN Heroes received a $50,000 grant for being named as this year's honorees. One of 2011 CNN Heroes will be named the "CNN Hero of the Year" live on the tribute show, as voted by fans across the globe. He or she will receive an additional $250,000 grant to further aid their charitable work.

"Dancing with the Stars" winner J.R. Martinez, will.i.am of The Black Eyed Peas, the global maternal health advocate and founder of Every Mother Counts Christy Turlington Burns and NFL Super Bowl champ Kurt Warner were announced as presenters last week.
