ASPEN, Calif., Dec. 4 (UPI) -- Charlie Sheen's ex-wife, Brooke Mueller, was arrested in Colorado this weekend for drug possession and assault, police in Aspen said.

Details on the alleged incident were not immediately available; however, People magazine said the beef came at a bad time for Mueller, who has a Dec. 19 court date pending, also for cocaine and assault stemming from a bar fight.

The Aspen (Colo.) Daily News said police did not release the report on Friday night's incident but confirmed she had been arrested at the request of the staff of a club where she and some friends had been partying.

A source close to Mueller told People magazine Mueller was still struggling with drug abuse and needed a more-intensive rehabilitation program.

"Brooke can't stay sober on her own," the source said. "Maybe this will force her to go into a treatment center for a long stay. Thirty-day rehabs won't work for her."
